Job Description

Managing a responsible maintenance system according to Anglo Coal’s maintenance temple.

Legal responsibility for all activities under his/her control regarding safety and effective cost management.

Overseeing processes relating to contractor management, belt installations and maintenance, road building, pumping of water, ventilation, belt inspections and Continuous Improvement within the department.

Ensure all Codes of Practice and Standard Operation Procedures are understood and adhered to.

Minimum Requirements

•Grade 12 certificate or equivalent

•Valid blasting certificate for fiery mines,  flameproofing and gas testing certificates

•At least 3 years mining experience

•Experience on blasting (Stone work), ventilation,  pumping work and road building

•Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act

•Good communication, interpersonal and supervisory  skills with strong administrative skills

•Ability to plan, co-ordinate and control activities

•Previous experience in a supervisory capacity will be  advantageous

•Be able to cope with pressure, be innovative & a self  starter

Requirements & Competencies

•Sound knowledge of Safety Systems, Regulations and  Standards with a high regard to safety and a excellent  safety record

•Valid driver’s license and own transport

•In possession of valid Certificate of Fitness or be able  to obtain onePreferred character traits
